Comments were Helpful to Writing

        
       I had 3 comments of each paragraph, except the last one. It is always helpful that sharing opinions with others. First of all, when I saw a few comments of my writing, they helped me correct my paragraphs. The comments always taught me how to write well, but I was so sad when I didn’t have any comment of the last paragraph. I want to have others opinions because they are really helpful! For example, Kyeong Seok Jeong who is in other class said to me ‘Don’t start sentences with FANBOYS.’ When I wrote that writing, I forgot about that. As soon as I looked his comment, I was thankful to him and changed the sentences without FANBOYS. Second, I could share my value with others. The first blog posting is about Noryangjin-dong, and the second one is Beansbins café that is my place of studying. In the first one, I wrote my story of preparing the entrance exam of university. Comments sympathized with my efforts and congratulated that I entered Sejong University. In the second posting, I could know where their place of study is. Among them, Jihye who is in other class too also knew about Beansbins café and loved its coffee. I was happy because I could feel empathy with other students about my own places. In brief, the comments others have posted on my writings taught me a good writing and could know about others thinking.

Learning from Other People's Paragraphs

        
       When I posted my comments on other blogs, I thought I could improve my English skills. Especially, I learnt many things in Mr. Jeong’s blog. I knew him when he gave me a comment on my blog post #2. By way of return, I read his paragraphs and could feel he is well about English. First of all, I could understand about how to write structured. His paragraphs are well-structured. He followed frame of writing in our textbook. For instance, he used his opinions with suitable examples. While I read his writings several times, I naturally acquire how to write structured. Second, I could know many new words. I read his paragraphs for two times, and they had many difficult words for me. Although they made it difficult for me to read easily, I thought those can raise my English skills. Also I understood why Gary made us do comments like this. To sum up, I could learn about the well-structured writing and acquired new words through his paragraphs.

Westerners to Noun and Asians to Verb

       Westerners and Asians have different perception that saw the world for two reasons. Westerners are used to consider with nouns, but Asians are accustomed to concise with VERBS. First of all, Westerners questioned with verb, but Asians with noun. In the situation that asking about drink more tea, Westerners asked “More tea?” However, Asians asked “Drink more?” Westerns used tea as a noun when they ask, but Asians used the verb ‘to drink’ in the same situation. According to Pung Kaiping who is University of California, Berkeley, Psychology professor, English language wanted to be cleared and specific. Sometimes the teachers said "go and eat some fruits" then the kids said “which fruits do you talking about?” That's how the kids in United States reacted, but in case of Chinese children, they understood about what teacher said. Second, Westerners concentrated only about question, but Asians considered with context. Participants had two pictures. One boy who is in center is smiling in first picture, and the others are too. In second picture, the center boy is smiling too, but the others look angry. Experimenters asked ‘Does that boy look happy in the second picture?’ to Westerners and Asians. Most Westerners said the boy is also happy, even someone didn’t know what the difference is of two pictures. However, most Asians said ‘no’ because they realized his face in context. Around the boy, all people look unhappy, so Asians answered that way. This test was also the difference of Noun to Westerners and Verbs to Asians. Westerners focused the question, so they thought only the boy that is the noun, but Asians focused the situation that is connected with verb. In brief, Westerners considered with nouns and events, but Asians conceived with verbs and contexts.

<My Friendly Cafe, Beansbins Coffee>

       The cafe, Beansbins Coffee is my best place where I can concentrate my works. The Beansbins

Coffee is a franchise company, and I especially go to the store around Samgakji station in Seoul.

Whenever I need to do a lot of works, I often go to this cafe to deal with my tasks. First of all, the

cafe is warm and cozy, so I can be absorbed in the works. The interior is decorated with brown color.

The illuminations are yellow light, and the tables, chairs, and blinds are brown. Also the floor is dark

brown. When I went to this cafe, I healed my mental by here's warm atmosphere. Second, there are

many customers at mealtime, so I can indulge in my works only. The store is such a small cafe, but

it's full with many tables and people. Many foreigners also come here because it's in Yongsan-gu.

Then I can hardly find any seat at mealtime. At that time, it's a little bit loud, but mostly I can focus on

my tasks if there has some noise. In addition, I can drink some coffee made from El Salvador's coffee

beans. There are some boxes which are full of coffee beans. Many customers can choose the kind of

coffee beans, and I really like the scent and taste of El Salvador's coffee. It makes me more

concentrate. Fourth, this Beansbins Coffee is eco-friendly. There is a tiny park around the cafe. The

cafe has walls of glass, so I can see the beautiful park and feel coolness of green color. I think the

green color makes my feeling calm, and I can concentrate my tasks. In sum up, my friendly cafe,

Beansbins is the perfect place to concentrate for me because of warmth, proper noise, delicious

coffee, and eco-friendly.
